Holiday Giving from UNIQLO
Our client Digitas asked us to come up with an engaging way to increase overall newsletter subscriptions for Japanese retailer giant UNIQLO.
In response we created the UNIQLO GIF Box – a HTML5 based experience that ran seamlessly on desktop and mobile devices alike. The giveaway experience gave new subscribers the opportunity to win 100% off UNIQLO products, and all new subscribers win a discount coupon and get a custom GIF to share via Facebook, Twitter, and Email. The application also featured a randomizer and an email delivery system that alerted users when they won a prize.
All in all, the viral nature of GIFs paid off - on the day GIF Box launched, UNIQLO achieved the biggest traffic surge in their website’s history, receiving over 11 million twitter impressions and ultimately 120,000 new, unique newsletter subscribers. Not bad for the simple GIF campaign!
